The carburising modernisation project performed in cooperation with PROCOM SYSTEM in the largest coal-fired power plant in the world (10 x 550 MW) in Taichung, Taiwan, received silver in the category “Project of the year in a coal-fired power plant”!
On September 2 this year, Bangkok hosted the “Oscars” in the energy industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
Carburising modernisation project performed in cooperation with PROCOM SYSTEM in the largest coal-fired power plant in the world (10 x 550 MW) in Taichung, Taiwan, obtained silver in the category “Project of the year at a coal power plant”.
The project gained recognition due to the fact that the carburising control system was modernised without stopping the automated system, i.e. in on-line mode. All tests, installation of cabinets and commissioning of control systems took place with full operation of the blocks. During the modernisation, carburising was performed all the time: unloading coal (from ships), storing coal in heaps and filling block silos (10×10).
The launch at the facility lasted from January 2014 to July 2014 and was a complete success. All control systems were transferred to the new system without exceeding the deadline. The old Teleperm-M automated system was upgraded to the latest version of Siemens SPPA-T3000 DCS system.
